Setranala Neira or known as Nala was born on March 9th, 1997. She was born and raised in Edinburgh, Scotland.
From a young age, Nala's mother aspired for her to be a successful ballerina, much like she had once dreamed of becoming. Her mother had been a talented dancer herself, but her dreams were cut short because she had Nala at a young age and had to married Nala's father. After giving birth to Nala, her mother suffered from the baby blues and ended up with PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder) which made her hates Nala and her father.Nala filled the void of her mother's love by watching all her ballet recordings. She also began to follow in her mother's footsteps by dancing ballet. Then, when she was 15 years old, Nala went to one of the world's most prestigious schools of ballet in Moscow, Russia.However, as fate would have it, Setranala's dreams to dance professionally were abruptly halted by a devastating injury. The severity of the injury required surgery and a long period of rehabilitation.The injury not only caused immense physical pain but also struck a blow to Nala's emotional and mental well-being. She was devastated to hear the doctor's diagnosis that she would never dance professionally again.

She attended School of Performing Arts Seoul from 2013 to 2016 with former DIA member Ahn Eun-jin. On February 4, 2016, she graduated from SOPA.
